We conduct structured research into how actual users interact with your current product or website. This includes session recording analysis, heatmap review, user interview synthesis if interviews have been conducted, analytics path analysis, and a structured usability audit. The output is a prioritised list of findings and a recommended scope of change. This can be commissioned as a standalone piece of work before a redesign, or as the discovery phase of a larger project. Either way, it answers the question "what should we actually change and why" before any design budget is spent.
